Brecht's Draft lager comes from an old Czech state brewery. Our wines are made by small Farmers around Europe, and collected by small traders in Amsterdam. The cheese we get in a good cheeseshop in the Utrechtsestraat. The juice is squeezed near the Keukenhof. Oranges we buy in the Turkish supermarket nearby. In short, we find our products with care. Small producers, who often produce organically, have an advantage. But organic is not a prerequisite. Products must be made with a certain love. That love for the profession is what you taste!

Eugen Berthold Friedrich (Bertolt) Brecht (Augsburg, February 10, 1898 - Berlin, August 14, 1956) was a German writer, poet and theater director. In 1933 he fled Germany and ended up in the United State. Under the influence of the cold war, Brecht returned to Germany in 1949 and settled in East Berlin. Famous works of Brecht are Threepennyopera, Mutter Courage und ihre Kinder and Baal.

The idea of Brecht comes from a certain love for Germany and German culture with great writers like Goethe, Mann and off course, Bertolt Brecht. In Brecht, we want to highlight Germany in a positive way because we believe the time is right for it. Regularly in Brecht there's something going on that in one way or another, has something to do with Europe and Germany. A concert, drama, poetry. It could be anything.
